The Kanaani is a cat breed of semi-foreign build with a short coat. It traces back to Israel. It originated as a hybrid of short-haired cats × African wildcat (Felis lybica). Its coat usually shows solid black, chocolate spotted tabby or cinnamon spotted tabby patterning. It carries recent wild-cat ancestry, so check local ownership laws and choose a well-socialised, later-generation cat. Cats commonly live 12–18 years, so this is a long-term commitment.
